WHAT’S THIS PAIN?
A big shout out to all the women out there who suffer from endometriosis or other painful reproductive issues. I have never been one to suffer from any of these things.
Cue the birth of my child. Since then, after my cycles returned I have had niggling aches and pains. This might be completely normal. I honestly haven’t looked much into it. But it is a pain in the arse… almost literally haha.
Today though I am mid cycle, so possibly ovulation time, but I have the worst pains in my lower abdomen. They started this morning when I woke up and have been here all day! I couldn’t even concentrate while I was doing my grocery shopping this morning.
I wasn’t in agony or anything, but its just really uncomfortable and constantly there. I just wanted to go home and lie down. Which I did… but not before I got out my trusty essential oils.
Today I used Clary Calm, Frankincense, Lemongrass and Basil. All applied directly to the painful area of my tummy and diluted with fractionated coconut oil. Then I got horizontal on the couch.
Seriously though… who suffers from these kind of problems? I feel for you girl!
I know I have had cysts on my ovaries before and I have very mild PCOS but no clinical tests have ever found anything else so I know I have never had endo or fibroids or anything more painful.
Naturally I have googled these symptoms and I have a wide variety of serous illnesses now, so lets hope I make it through the afternoon so I can have a drink at vodka o’clock!
Anyways… lets take a look at the oils I used today to help my annoying lower belly pain.
- Clary Calm – This blend contains Clary Sage Flower, Lavender Flower, Bergamot Peel, Roman Chamomile Flower, Ylang Ylang Flower, Cedarwood Wood, Geranium Plant, Fennel Seed, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa Herb, and Vitex Leaf/Berry essential oils. It provides a soothing and calming effect during a woman’s menstrual cycle. It is calming aroma helps soothe and balance heightened emotions. It helps balance mood throughout the month.
- Frankincense – Often called the “king of oils,” Frankincense promotes feelings of peace and overall wellness when used aromatically, while topical and internal uses provide modern health benefits. You can ingest to support healthy cellular function. The aroma promotes feelings of relaxation. It helps reduce the appearance of skin imperfections when applied topically. Supports healthy immune, nervous, and digestive function when taken internally.
- Lemongrass – A favorite oil for massages, Lemongrass provides a pungent, smoky aroma, and offers purifying and toning benefits for the skin. It supports healthy digestion when taken in a capsule. Combine it with a carrier oil for soothing massage. Apply diluted after a long run for a refreshing feeling.
- Basil – The spicy, yet herbal nature of Basil makes it a versatile oil that can be used to promote focus and alertness, or to add a little extra flavour while cooking. Basil helps to keep the skin looking clean, clear, and healthy. Promotes mental alertness and lessens anxious feelings when diffused. May help to ease monthly feminine discomfort.
So today these are the oils I chose to help support my issues. I am feeling way less discomfort after a few applications and a bit of rest.
Hopefully it all subsides tonight and is gone tomorrow. I don’t like this feeling one bit!
So a high five to all my sisters who deal with this MONTHLY! I would not cope well!
Peace out from this sooky couch dweller! xxx
